Should the City Council allow property owners to convert their old properties into condos?

In the wake of this weeks massive pot bust, how should we combat the cultivation of drugs in the national forest?

Construction has begun- on the Presidio in the Pines, amongst concern that the home prices may increase due to construction delays and material costs.

In a somewhat related story, the Republic reported that Valley home prices rose 47% last year. We all know that Flagstaff’s prices have skyrocketed as well, but the Valley’s increase led the nation. What does that do the supply side theory of affordable housing?

The Daily Sun ran a story about the planned Villagio Montana, a 3,500 + home development between University Heights and Mt. Dell. The development could theoretically add 22% to the population of Flagstaff. Concerns include affordable housing, drainage and the sheer size of the development. Thoughts?

Update:  The Villagio is asking Planning and Zoning and the City Council to change the way Flagstaff processes Regional Plan Ammendments.  

The new aquatic center seems to be down to two sites–Fourth Street, or Forest Avenue by the Jay Livey center. Which site would best serve the community’s needs? And what other amenities should be included?

Seems the City has reached a settlement with the Firefighters union over random drug testing. Details have yet to be released. Should firefighters be subject to random drug screening?

Ariz. city set to restrict cold-remedy sales in meth war This AZ Republic story details Cottonwood’s plan to limit pseudoephederine sales in the battle against meth.  "Cottonwood Vice Mayor Randy Lowe said Tuesday night that the council needs to take action now. ‘I think it will encourage Clarkdale, Camp Verde and Sedona to follow suit because they don’t want all the meth problems on their doorstep,’"  Should Flagstaff follow suit?

This Daily Sun article details the continuing problem with street drunks in Flagstaff.  Detox center?  Jail?  FMC?  What’s the best solution for addressing this continuing problem in our community?
