The Flagstaff Police Department’s gang unit responded to a protest at Coconino High School yesterday. The protest, which occurred after administrators cancelled a screening of “The Snowbowl Effect,” was broken up, and police plan on meeting with youth leaders to discuss proper guidelines for future action. Was the response appropriate?

City Council approved Pine Canyon’s plat for luxury townhomes, allowing development to proceed while the issue of public access is decided separately. In turn, the developers dropped their $52 million dollar claim against the City. Should development proceed while the access issue is still unresolved?

The Council recently approved an agreement that allows City Firefighters to avoid random drug screenings. In your opinion, should firefighters be screened randomly?

The Council is moving forward with a bridge over Cedar Ave., providing a link with the Arizona trail and easy crossing for pedestrians. However, the project looks to be about $300,000 more than originally anticipated. Is this a good use of taxpayer money?
