Nov. 29, 1959: "A newspaper that an area pioneer probably read over his evening coffee will be given to the Sharlot Hall Museum by Raymond Queen, 1800 Meadowridge Road. A Dec. 31, 1799 issue of The Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal, it carries accounts of the death, funeral procession and burial of George Washington – on page two. Only advertising rated page-one spots in those days."
