URBAN
FARMING TO THE BIG SCREEN,
GROWING
CITIES
SCREENS AT THE FLAGSTAFF
MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL

Flagstaff, AZ (WEB)
October 1, 2013– Growing Cities has its Arizona premiere
on Friday, October 11th (3 PM) at the Orpheum Theatre as a part of
the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival. To buy tickets and to learn
more about the festival go to: flagstaffmountainfilms.org

The film follows two
young filmmakers as they meet people who are transforming their
cities one backyard chicken and rooftop farm at a time. “Everyone
is really tired of hearing about all the problems with our food
system,” says first-time feature director Dan Susman, age 25.
“So we figured it was time to show off the people who were
doing something positive, right in their own backyards.”

Growing Cities is
the first film to shed light on the urban agriculture movement on a
national level. The film shows viewers how everyone can positively
impact the food system regardless of where they live or their past
experiences.

“Urban farming
has remarkable power on so many levels,” says filmmaker Andrew
Monbouquette, “it connects people to healthy foods, strengthens
communities, creates jobs, revitalizes blighted areas; and much more.
That’s why this story is so compelling.

After the screening
there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers. To learn more about the
film or watch the trailer, readers can visit the project’s
